Tourist Office

Includes activities performed by tourism offices and destination management companies including:

Arranging and assembling tours that are sold through travel agencies or directly by tour operators. This activity does not permit transportation of passengers in any way, unless through licensed companies for passengers transport.

The tours may include any or all of the following:

• Transportation through licensed companies for passenger transport.
• Accommodation.
• Food.
• Visits to museums, historical or cultural sites, theatrical, musical or sporting events.

The activities that allow transportation of passengers by road are as follows:

• Operation of Land Tours - Internal Transport of Tourists (ISIC4 Code:791202)
• Operation of Land Tours - International Transport of Tourists (ISIC4 Code:791202)
• Passenger land transport - Transport of passengers (Domestic) (ISIC4 Code: 49211)
• Passenger land transport - Transport of passengers (International) (ISIC4 Code: 49211)

This activity excludes:

• Travel Agency Activities, See ISIC4 Code 7911
• Operation of Land Tours, See ISIC4 Code 791202
• Operation of Sea/Diving Tours, See ISIC4 Code 791203

• No fees

• The office location must be within the premises approved by Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.
• The office location should not be among the business incubators or accelerators.
• Not to practice any non-relevant activities on the same address.

• The office must be equipped and furnished.
• The number of employees in the office shall not be less than two.
• The license applicant must have a qualified office manager with appropriate experience in the field of selling and marketing air transport services or airlines and the work of tourism programs and must have obtained one of the approved courses from (IATA) in the same field and attach what supports the work experience required for the office manager from the approved official authorities.
• The office’s employees of the office must be qualified to work in the field of activity of travel and tourism offices and companies.

• Office manager’s IATA certificate.
• Office manager’s experience certificate.
• Office employee’s qualifications.

• Resolution No. (2) of (1989) on the conditions and procedures for licensing and renewing tourism services.
• Resolution No. (37) of 2015 on amending some provisions of Resolution No (2) of (1989) on the conditions and procedures for licensing and renewing tourism services.
