11 May, 2021

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) announced the launch of the first Amphibious Duck Tours in Bahrain next Friday, May 14.  Tourists, citizens, and residents can book for this unprecedented experience in Bahrain through the Bahrain Duck Tours application on Google Play and the App Store.

The authority stated that the Duck Tours have two daily trips at 10.00 am and 4.00 pm, passing through several landmarks surrounding the Financial Harbor on a one-hour journey, traveling 7km on land and 2.5 km on sea. It also includes tour guides who provide a live presentation during the trip on some of the tourism and commercial sites around Bahrain.

The Tourism Authority will launch this amphibious bus to coincide with the Eid Al Fitr holiday, to give tourists and families a rich and entertaining experience.

The amphibious bus has been provided with all the necessary safety elements and follows the health and precautionary measures issued by the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

BTEA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nasser Ali Qaedi, stated that the Duck Tour project is part of a number of tourism initiatives that are aimed to provide different experiences for tourists in Bahrain.

“The Duck tour is a unique experience developed by BTEA and we plan to develop the route of trips to include other areas in Bahrain. This is based on the success of similar tours in other countries such as the United States of America, Singapore, and others. We expect this experience to be very popular among tourists, visitors, and even citizens and residents who want to try something new and enjoyable.” Dr. Qaedi added.

Dr. Qaedi also explained that the amphibious bus journey starts from the King Faisal Corniche, passing through Manama Port, Reef Island and the area surrounding the Financial Harbor building, then the road trip starts and will include the Seef area and will pass through Khalifa Bin Salman Street towards the Financial Harbor, then go back to the King Faisal Corniche.

“This amphibious bus is expected to add a special joyful atmosphere to the streets of Bahrain and its coastline, as its shape is designed in an attractive way that enriches the experience of tourists, especially families, and children”. Dr. Qaedi concluded.
